Qigong Saturdays

10.30am-1pm Saturday 1st March 2025 (focusing on Ba Duan Jin)

Qigong (pronounced Chi-Gong) has been practiced and refined over thousands of years. These ancient exercises stretch and strengthen the physical body while repairing blockages in the energy body, stimulating acupuncture points and massaging the internal organs.

The flow of ‘Qi’ in the body is stimulated in a safe natural way. Promoting self healing and preservation these simple effective movements, performed from a standing position are suitable for all ages and abilities.

The Qigong forms practiced are;

  • Ba Duan Jin The Eight Treasures Qigong(八段錦) is one of the most common and widely practiced forms of Chinese Health Qigong in the world today.  Variously translated as the Eight Treasures, Eight Pieces of Brocade, Eight-Section Brocade, Eight Silken Movements or Eight Silk Weaving, the name of the form generally refers to how the eight individual movements characterize and impart a silken quality to the body and its energy. • Healing Sounds Combining ancient Taoist healing techniques with more modern Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Healing Sounds Qigong set of six movements and accompanying sounds give comprehensive benefits for your internal organs, external viscera and the opening of energy channels throughout the body. The sounds produced improve and regulate organ functions while the movements stimulate the related acupoints and meridians.
